Water Purifier Service: What Are You Paying to Maintain?
The purifier still dispenses water, but that does not tell you whether its filters are due for attention. Start with the model, its maintenance instructions and the last replacement record.

Why filter maintenance is part of using a purifier
NSF advises that home water-treatment systems need maintenance and filter replacement as required by their instructions. Filters are designed for particular purposes; not every filter addresses every contaminant.
A service visit should maintain the selected equipment and identify necessary work. It is not, by itself, a laboratory water-quality result or a guarantee that all contaminants have been removed. If you have a water-quality concern, discuss suitable testing and treatment rather than relying only on appearance or taste.
Distinguish service, filter change and fault repair
TaskTigers lists RO service/filter-change visits, purifier check-up/repair and installation/uninstallation separately. Slow dispensing, a leak or a fault indication may need diagnosis before the right work is known.
Share the purifier make and model and ask what the selected visit includes. A visit price does not automatically include every filter, membrane, lamp or replacement part.
Ask for an itemised replacement quote
Before approving replacement, ask which component is being changed, why it is needed and whether it is compatible with your model. Confirm the part and labour charges and any warranty offered.
Keep the part details, date and invoice. For equipment under a manufacturer plan or warranty, check its service conditions before arranging other work. Do not assume a standard visit extends the original manufacturer's coverage.
Use the maintenance record, not a guess
Replacement requirements vary by system and its instructions. Keep track of service indicators and the manufacturer's schedule; tell the technician if usage or the water source has changed.
Water-tank cleaning and purifier maintenance are separate services. Cleaning the storage tank does not replace filter maintenance, and a purifier service does not clean the building's tank.
What to send TaskTigers
Send the make, model, symptoms and last filter-change date if known. A safely taken label photo helps identify the equipment. Ask for the selected scope and any likely assessment charges before confirming the visit.
At completion, ask what was inspected, which components were changed and what follow-up the model requires. Keep that information for your next service.
Questions customers ask
Are all filters included in the service price?
Not automatically. Check the selected option and approve a compatible, itemised parts quote before replacement.
Can I judge water safety by taste or clear appearance?
Do not use appearance or taste as a substitute for relevant water-quality assessment. A purifier's suitability depends on the water concern and its specified treatment capability.
Is water-tank cleaning the same as purifier servicing?
No. One addresses the storage tank's agreed cleaning scope; the other addresses the purifier and its maintenance needs.
