TaskTigers Guides / Booking Safety
What Protected Advance Means for Higher-Value Home Services
Some higher-value jobs need a small advance before the visit. TaskTigers keeps this amount protected during the review window and releases it only after the booking is completed or reviewed.

Why some jobs need advance
Advance is useful for larger bookings where a provider needs commitment before blocking time, arranging resources, or travelling to the location.
It also reduces last-minute cancellations for complex work such as deep cleaning, painting visits, pest control packages, appliance work, and other higher-value jobs.
How the payment is split
The booking page shows the amount due now, any booking fee, and the balance payable later.
For protected-advance bookings, the advance is held through TaskTigers and is normally paid to the provider after completion, subject to support/admin review and refund/dispute checks.
What customers should check
Before confirming, check service scope, selected variant, add-ons, date, address, amount due now, and balance payable after service.
If the work needs inspection or quotation, do not treat the listed visit price as the final repair or project cost.
Questions customers ask
Is protected advance the same as the full service price?
No. Protected advance is only the amount paid now for eligible higher-value bookings. The remaining balance is shown separately and paid as per the booking terms.
Can protected advance be refunded?
Refund depends on cancellation, dispute, and support review. If there is a verified issue, TaskTigers support can review and process the eligible refund.
